AFF Diary – Day 5: Half Over

I figured that “Half Over” was a good title for this journal entry because 1) It’s midway through the festival 2) The panel ‘half’ of the festival is over and 3) I’m a huge fan of my own ideas. That is a great title.

Moving along, yes, the panels are over, and it’s only movies from here on out. This means that afternoons are spent stranded in the hotel room with no transportation, trying hard to coordinate what shows to see. After Sunday’s films, I was feeling a bit better about my picks (festival film-going can be brutally hit or miss), so I figured to go with my gut today and check out The Quietest Sound and The Book of the Dead Both are conceptual, which can be a risk, but I was feeling lucky…
