The entire plot of Hatchet and Hatchet 2 were skeletons where Adam Green could hang some gruesome cheese and a deep love of 80s slashers. There’s nothing wrong with that, and Victor Crowley emerged as a new minor horror icon.
It’s unclear how they’ll continue the franchise after the gut blast of the second movie, but Dark Sky Films has given Green the greenlight to rev their blood-fueled engines and return to the swamp for Hatchet 3.
According to Shock Til You Drop, all personnel details are still being hammered out – which means Green might not be directing. However, the idea for the third film was created even before filming of the second which means the creativity has simply been waiting for the money to fall into place. Are you ready to run from the Bayou Butcher again?
