The fate of the universe lies in three small children.

Disney has released a brand new trailer for  Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time. The anticipated adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s classic novel of how three kids must travel through the universe in order to save their father and in turn the universe is right around the corner.

The trailer does an excellent job of showing us even more of the magical world DuVernay has created for her adaptation. Meg Murry (Storm Reid) was an A student, best marks in her class type. Her father’s disappearance has changed all that for her, making life a lot more difficult. Her determination to find her father brings her, her brother, and her friend on a wild adventure through time and space. As the trailer goes, you may think that the quickest way to a destination is a straight line, but you would be wrong.

During their travels, they meet three witches that will help them on their journey. It is only the light from the children that will allow them to save Meg’s father. The more we see of A Wrinkle in Time, the more excited we get for its arrival.

Here’s the synopsis:

From visionary director Ava DuVernay comes Disney’s “A Wrinkle in Time,” an epic adventure based on Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic which takes audiences across dimensions of time and space, examining the nature of darkness versus light and, ultimately, the triumph of love. Through one girl’s transformative journey led by three celestial guides, we discover that strength comes from embracing one’s individuality and that the best way to triumph over fear is to travel by one’s own light.

A Wrinkle in Time stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Chris Pine, Storm Reid, and Zack Galifianakis. It hits theaters on March 9th, 2018.
