Let’s Jump Into A ‘Hot Tub Time Machine’

Apparently the punch line to this joke is a feature-length script about men, sexual tension, and a magic hot tub.

Hot Tub Time Machine is written by Josh Heald, and is described as “probably the greatest gift anyone’s ever given the world. Time will show that it ranks up there with the Statue of Liberty and free Internet porn.” Hefty praise indeed, made no less persuasive by the fact that it comes straight from Heald himself in a letter to Cinematical. He goes on to say that his “goal with the screenplay was awesomeness, through and through. And audiences will not be disappointed.” Still not sold on Hot Tub Time Machine?

A recent twat from Production Weekly has revealed that Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and John Cusack have signed on to star as a trio of adult friends who revisit a hot tub that was party central when they were younger… only to discover it has since become a time machine capable of transporting them back to their raunchy teen years. Sex Drive director/co-writers Sean Anders and John Morris were originally attached to co-direct, but they’ve since been replaced by Accepted helmer, Steve Pink.

Fantastic cast, awesome title, and Heald seems genuinely funny… the R-rated shenanigans go into production this April but no release date has been announced yet.

Can you think of a better or more unusual time machine than a hot tub?
