Marvel just debuted the new ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ trailer at Comic-Con, and it is pure bliss. Check it out below!

Early teasers and images from the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok let us know that director Taika Waititi wasn’t being made to reign in his vision for the film, and this latest trailer that just premiered at Comic-Con confirms that yet again. This is a Marvel Studios movie, but any claims that they’re not open to having unique voices helm their Marvel Universe films ends now.

Thor: Ragnarok sees Thor separated from his beloved hammer and forced to make his way back to Asgard on the power of his other strengths. Luckily for us those strengths involve wit, brute force, and a deliriously fantastic-looking group of friends and enemies.

Check out the new trailer below.

Yes. Please.

The previous two Thor films are competent features that typically rank low in Marvel Universe lists while surviving mostly on the charisma of their casts. Waititi’s turn in the director’s chair looks to turn things all the way up to eleven in regards to casting with Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, and other regulars being joined by the slap happy likes of Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, and more. We love all of these people, and it looks like they all love what they’re doing here too.

The action looks good, but the brightly colored palette adds an extra something to it all in the form of landscapes, costumes, and production design in general. Some of these shots are just big, operatic stunners… am I wrong to say it feels like Flash Gordon at times remade with an enormous budget and talents? Not a dig at Flash Gordon which I love, but this, this is epic and glorious-looking.

Anyway. I could go on about the film’s humor and tone speaking directly to my funny bone, but trailer’s are designed for just this purpose. It’s a great trailer. We’re hoping the film itself is every bit as brilliant.

The official synopsis: “After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor, held captive on the planet Sakaar without his hammer, must win a gladiatorial duel against an old friend — the Hulk — in order to return to Asgard in time to stop the ruthless Hela and the impending Ragnarok, the doom of the Asgardian civilization.”

Thor: Ragnarok blasts into theaters on November 3rd.
