Gotta love the smell of awards show season in the morning (it smells like speculative think pieces). The nominees for the 89th Academy Awards were announced today! And whether you’ve been following the race closely, or are simply stoked for your local prediction betting pool to kick off, it’s always interesting to see who the Academy chooses to honor. Ditching the press conference for a hip new global live stream, the nominations were revealed by the likes of Jennifer Hudson, Brie Larson, Emmanuel Lubezki, Jason Reitman, Ken Watanabe, and Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs.

These nominations see a series of records met, many of which bare relevance to the #OscarsSoWhite criticism of recent years:

The 89th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will air on Sunday, February 26th at 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET on ABC. See the full list of nominees below:
