Stephen King hopes you are not afraid of rats in the adaptation of his novella 1922.

If you haven’t gotten enough of Stephen King stories with the recent release of IT and The Dark Tower, Netflix has got your back.

Netflix has a new Stephen King feature coming to their service. The movie, 1922, is based on novella King wrote in a collection known as Full Dark, No Stars. Thomas Jane (The Mist, Deep Blue Sea) stars as Wilfred James, a proud rancher who loves his farm and loves his son. His wife, well he can do without her. When Arlette James (Molly Parker) wants out she plans to get her divorce and take her son with her. That just isn’t going to work for Mr. James. He decides to get rid of his wife, but the ramifications of that action might just lead to his undoing.

Warning: May Contain Rats.

1922 is another planned Stephen King adaptation in a long list. In fact, Netflix has another King adaptation lined up for September with Gerald’s Game. Nevertheless, given the monumental success of IT, expect more King adaptations to be coming our way. The audience at Fantastic Fest will get the first opportunity to see 1922 before it heads exclusively to Netflix. They’ll be perhaps one of the few audiences that sees Thomas Jane decent into madness on the big screen.

1922 premiers on Netflix October 22nd.
