The FSR Fall 2010 Wednesday Night Watch List

Well, we’ve reached the middle of the week. Wednesday night has been home to many beloved series over the years. A night filled with shows that range from the hysterical to the dead serious, Wednesday is one of the best nights for television. This year is no exception. With more of the same coming down the pipeline from all networks.

So put the kids to bed, break out that week old Outback Steakhouse left over, and refresh the DVR batteries because here comes Part IV of the FSR Fall 2010 Watch List.

Undercovers (NBC) Airs Wednesday 8pm, Premieres September 22nd

J.J. Abrams returns with his first series in years. And even better, he directed the pilot for this one. Centering on two married former CIA spies who are called back into action, Undercovers is sure to get some credit for coining the term “sexspionage.” But it looks to be classic J.J. Lets just hope that this one doesn’t have any sci-fi to it. I just want an action show J.J. That’s all.

The Middle (ABC) Airs Wednesday 8pm, Premieres September 22nd

The following synopsis is provided by Kevin Carr:

It’s fall, so it’s time to go back to school in Indiana with the Hecks. This bizarre little family of Hoosiers take on the average, everyday problems of a family in flyover country as Sue finally makes a sports team, Axl continues to wear only underwear and Brick has a challenging new teacher played by Patricia Heaton’s former nemesis, Doris Roberts [whisper: Roberts].

Criminal Minds (CBS) Airs Wednesday 9pm, Premieres September 22nd

The FBI’s best BAU team returns for their sixth season this year. After a not so great finale, we’ll see the show go through some major changes. Most notably the dropping of any female character that isn’t named Garcia. It sucks, but I won’t judge until I see what the production team is planning.

Modern Family (ABC) Airs Wednesday 9pm, Premieres September 22nd

A show that I fell in love with over the course of watching season one in the time span of two weeks, Modern Family returns for its second season. I’ve dubbed the show “a zanier Parenthood.” I’m looking forward to more antics from the various families… Oh, and Gloria’s boobs. Just one thing, we gotta tone down Mannie this year.

Law & Order: SVU (NBC) Airs Wednesday 9pm, Premieres September 22nd

The sex crimes unit of Manhattan returns after what is probably one of the best finales in the shows twelve year history. This season will see the team get yet another new ADA, and I’m sure plenty of guest stars will be dropping by. But at the end of the day, as long as Christopher Meloni is throwing people through walls, I’m happy.

Mythbusters (The Discovery Channel) Airs Wednesday 9pm, Premieres October 6th

While I know this is a bit of a curve ball, Mythbusters is a definite must watch… As it always will be. I don’t care who you are, watching Adam and Jamie blow s**t up and put their bodies on the line every week for our entertainment brings a smile to my face all the time. The second half of the season kicks off with some more dog myths on October 6th.

Friday Night Lights (DirecTV Channel 101) Airs Wednesday 9pm, Premieres October 27th

I have never seen a single episode of this series, nor have I seen the film it’s based on. But it returns for its final season this year and I’m sure their will be plenty to talk about.

Law & Order: LA (NBC) Airs Wednesday 10pm, Premieres September 22nd

Dick Wolf takes the franchise out of NYC for only the second time in its history (Law & Order: London), and this time it’s getting some sun. Law & Order: LA stars some heavy hitters in the form of Skeet Ulrich and Terrence Howard, so I have faith for the series. But only time will tell as to its longevity. We don’t want another Trial by Jury on our hands.

Terriers (FX) Airs Wednesday 10pm, Already begun

FX’s take on PI’s, Terriers has been delivering some hilarity in its current form. This is one you should check out.
