While it may be the loneliest night of the week, some of the best franchises have come out of Tuesday night. Everything from NCIS to Law & Order: SVU have thrived on Tuesdays.

It’s is also the first big night of the week for cable stations.

This past summer alone saw six major hard hitting programs air against each other on various networks on this night. This fall is no different.

So make sure those DVR remote batteries are fresh, because here comes Part III of the FSR Fall 2010 Watch List.

Glee (FOX) Airs Tuesdays 8pm, Premieres September 21st

The surprise hit of last season, Glee returns for its sophomore year. This season promises more of the same, singing, dancing and one-dimensional characters. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the show. But with things like the Britney Spears and Rocky Horror themed episodes planned, I’m slowly beginning to think the show is a one hit wonder.

NCIS (CBS) Airs Tuesdays 8pm, Premieres September 21st

After last seasons completely awful finale, I’ve been left with a bad taste of NCIS in my mouth all summer. But the fact is, NCIS has dominated my 8pm Tuesday TV watch time every year since season 3. So this year will be no different. I really hope that things turn around in the premiere. And if you’re a fan of head slapping or the awesome Mark Harmon, tune in.

No Ordinary Family (ABC) Airs Tuesdays 8pm, Premieres September 28th

My guess, someone saw The Incredibles and asked, can we make that live action? But with heavy hitters Julie Benz and Michael Chiklis in the lead roles, I have hope. I’m guessing Chiklis just wanted to be The Thing but not have to worry about make up. I’ll be interested to see where this one goes.

NCIS: LA (CBS) Airs Tuesdays 9pm, Premieres September 21st

I gave up on this show two episodes into its first season. But I’ve heard its done a complete 180 since than. So I’ll say this, if you like the original NCIS and haven’t checked out LA yet, then give it a shot.

Raising Hope (FOX) Airs Tuesdays 9pm, Premieres September 21st

From the creator of one of my favorite now defunct series My Name is Earl, Raising Hope is about “a 23-year-old who must raise his infant daughter, conceived by a one-night stand, with the help of his flawed family after the baby’s mother is sent to jail.” It sounds very FOX in terms of it’s content. A little dark, but a lot of heart. At least FOX is doing a comedy series right this time, rather than putting it in their Sunday animation block (Sons of Tucson), they’re putting it after Glee. Good enough for me.

Detroit 1-8-7 (ABC) Airs Tuesdays 10pm, Premieres September 21st

Originally conceived as a mockumentary police procedural done in the vein of ‘The Office’ with a serious tone, Detroit 1-8-7 has become just another cookie cutter police procedural… So you know I’ll be checking it out. I love cop shows.

Parenthood (NBC) Airs Tuesdays 10pm, Already begun

My favorite new show of last season returns for another year of hilarity. Parenthood focuses on four related families all in different stages of parenthood. Last season was a laugh riot, but was also able to do the drama thing with ease. The first episode of this season was very sweet and wholesome. I expect this to continue throughout the year.

Sons of Anarchy (NBC) Airs Tuesdays 10pm, Already begun

You know it, you love it. Yup, the gang from Charming has returned for their Junior year in telling the story of Hamlet with Harleys. The season is two episodes in and it’s good. If you’re not watching already, what are you waiting for?

Side Note: Check back here on FSR every Tuesday for my coverage of the show.

Stargate Universe (SyFy) Airs Tuesdays 9pm, Premieres September 28th

Well I got nothing for this one. Reason, Kevin Carr has kept me away from it. But based on what he’s told me, this show is all sorts of bad. I got out of the Stargate game once Anderson left SG-1 many years ago. But hey, season one is now streaming on Netflix in HD, so go make your own determination.

The Good Wife (CBS) Airs Mondays 10pm, Premieres September 28th

I’ve not personally seen an episode of The Good Wife, but I have heard good things. I don’t have much to say beyond that though. If you’re a fan, tune in.
