Review: Hung – ‘Mind Bullets’

HungEpisode: “Mind Bullets or Bang Bang Bang Bang Mother Fucker” (Season 2, Episode 2)

Synopsis: The battle for pimp supremacy heats up as Tanya and Lenore battle it out for dominance in selling Ray’s privates to ladies. Complicating matters are Ray’s children, who are facing low self-esteem issues, and a co-worker of Tanya’s who demands free sex.

Review: Alarmingly an episode that is funny without being overly depressing. Sure, the show opens with Ray’s kids talking about the persecution they feel at school for being, lets say, unique, while Ray faces up to the reality that, as a good looking sports star, he probably wouldn’t have been friends with his freakish kids. The children did voice a question that every viewer of Hung has asked- how do two attractive, in shape parents spawn two beasts?

Lenore kicked ass this episode, mentally dominating Tanya at every corner, causing her to retreat to the donut hole to seek advice from her true pimp friend. Tanya’s brilliant counter move involved stealing Lenore’s dog followed by squatting in a parking lot screaming “Bang bang bang bang Motherfucker” while looking like she was trying to pass a kidney stone. Lenore’s counter attack was a purely mental mind fucking that was worth a real laugh.

While Tanya seems on the down and out, things are looking up for Ray – or were, at least until he, ex-wife Jessica, and pimp Lenore all end up in the same parking lot at the same time. Uhoh. This will no doubt lead to troubles for Ray in the future, but in the mean time, things are going okay. He used some of his sex money to get new uniforms for the baseball team and they’re looking sharp.

In conclusion, a smart, sharp and solid thirty minutes worth of television with a strong number of laughs, good plot advancement, and more importantly a lack of the normal depression that penetrates the show. Strangely, the not traditionally great looking Horny Patty comes off pretty hot in a sex scene with Ray, sporting some rather large, how do you say, boobs. Now, actress Lauren Weedman isn’t bad looking, but her character on the show is traditionally pretty frumpy. So I was a bit surprised to see her looking good while riding Ray and talking about a Ken-Barbie gangbang.
