Now this is what I’m talking about.  While the last photo we showed you didn’t have me digging out of my grave, this picture is sufficiently creepy, gross, and haunting.  The reason for the increased awesomeness comes from the fact that his is our first actual production image, implying that this is probably from a scene in one of the episodes, rather than a sort of behind the scenes picture.

With the proper lighting, these zombies look awesome.  Check out the exposed rib cage and half-dissolved face.  Definitely not the kind of girl you take home to mother.  Currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia under the directorial leadership of Frank Darabont (The Mist), The Walking Dead will come to life on AMC this October.  Then you’ll be able to see all the kick-ass grossness of the Greg Nicotero (KNB Effects) zombies.
