Victoria Justice

The First Time Trailer

In the Land of Women director Jon Kasdan has finished a new movie, and those of you who are unabashed fans of high school flicks should find it to be pretty appealing. The First Time looks like such a typical teenage drama that it might very well be made up of a patchwork of scenes from past teen movies that you already know and love. I’m not sure if anyone would notice. There’s the guy with the hopeless crush on the girl who just sees him as a friend, the girl who spends every waking moment obsessing over her status as a virgin, and whether or not she’s ready to end it. There’s the creepy older guy scamming on high school girls, and the kid in the glasses, who isn’t going to get to have a romantic subplot, but who is mostly just there to say something funny every once in a while. All your favorites, here in one place! Who does the movie star? None other than names like Dylan O’Brien, Britt Robertson, Victoria Justice, and James Frecheville. Who are these people? Yeah, I’m not entirely certain either; but they’re all fresh-faced, young, and attractive, so that’s all you need to know.

Fun Size Movie

Josh Schwartz is taking the success he found on TV with shows like The OC and Chuck and translating that into a directorial debut fit for families. It also manages a slutty kitty and a humping chicken. You know, for kids. Fun Size stars Victoria Justice as a teen on the cusp of the popularity that comes with being hunted by the hottest guy in school, but she’s charged with looking after her little brother on Halloween, a job that seeks to undermine her ability to attend the coolest party of the year. Conflict! Then she loses her brother, who happens to be dressed up like Spider-Man. Fortunately, he’s found by a young man who asks if he likes gladiator movies, and…wait. What. What exactly is going on in this trailer?

What was interesting about Fun Size back in January remains its most interesting feature today. That, of course, is director Josh Schwartz, perhaps known best as the showrunner for Chuck. That television show will be coming to a close soon, and Schwartz looks to be shifting to bigger screens with his first feature film here (and a few other projects in development). The story is fairly standard – about a teenage girl who has to take her little brother trick ‘r’ treating and, instead, takes him to a party. For some reason he goes missing, which means the party is either a raging mind-bender or way too boring for a pre-pubescent kid. Disney alum Victoria Justice has already signed on as the lead, and Bloody Disgusting is now reporting that Johnny Knoxville, Thomas Middleditch, Thomas McDonell, Osric Chau, Ana Gasteyer, Josh Pence, Holmes Osborne, James Pumphrey, William Belli, and Peter Navy Tulasosopo have also been cast alongside Jackson Nicoli who will play the brat that goes missing. Almost all of those names sound made-up, especially the one that sounds like a porn actor alias. You know the one. Regardless, it’s a big, varied cast which should offer a lot of crazy characters for Jackson to run into during the frantic search for her brother.
