Toe to Toe

Here’s a nice way to finish out our week and send you off into the weekend — with a short exclusive clip from the Sundance graduate Toe to Toe, from director Emily Abt. It’s a film about an unlikely pair of girls at an upscale prep school, both of whom show promise on the lacrosse field. Both of whom have problems off the field.

Here we go again on another beautiful Friday afternoon (it’s raining in Austin) with a quick edition of This Week in Movie Posters. I say quick, because this wasn’t a great week for movie posters, but there are a few notables.

In general, I have a rule about walking out of movies. I just don’t do it. And while writer/director Emily Abt’s melodramatic soap opera Toe to Toe didn’t have me reaching for acid to pour on my face, it will go down as the first film of Sundance 2009 that had me eying both my watch and the exit door.
