When you have a chance to sit with someone like Robert Rodriguez, a few things go through your mind. Like, “I can’t believe I get to meet one of my favorite directors”, or “What if I come off as a tool?”, and even “Wow, he is tall.” One of the things that is really great about Rodriguez is that he keeps everything close to home, literally.

Predators

Last night, SXSW attendees were treated to a first look at the upcoming Robert Rodriguez produced movie Predators. No knowing exactly what to expect regarding footage length, quality or level of completion, we shuffled into the Alamo Drafthouse at the Ritz with high hopes for at least a bit of blood. Rodriguez and director Nimrod Antal were on hand to present a variety show of sorts that was light on footage, but heavy on cool. Luckily, these guys have stage presence.

Predators

Thanks to the official Predators website I can scratch that last one off the list. A sneak preview has gone live on the site showing a pretty good mix of actual scenes and behind-the-scenes footage. Odds are it’s not the same footage being screened at SXSW, but it’s still more than enough to raise my interest in the movie.
