In remake news that most won’t recognize as a remake, Robert De Niro is gearing up to star in Everybody’s Fine, an updated version of Tornatore’s neo-classic Stanno Tutti Bene.

According to Variety, De Niro will be surrounded by talent on all sides. Specifically, Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell will round out the co-starring cast.

For those out of the know, the story is one of a widower who decides to visit each of his five children. Each of their lives turns out to be dramatically different from what he’d envisioned, and it reflects in his own life and in his marriage. It’s about a man gaining true perspective late in life.

The new incarnation was written and will be directed by Kirk Jones who seems apt at handling such emotional material after his Waking Ned Divine. In fact, it sounds like everyone involved in the film is more than capable of creating a beautiful picture. Barrymore and Rockwell will be back on-screen together for the first time since Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and as long as the script is strong, it looks like this one will be a winner.
