Dianna Agron

Godfather Part II

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before – Robert De Niro is going to play a mob boss in a movie. You’re shocked, aren’t you? The star of such mob classics as The Godfather: Part II, The Untouchables, and Goodfellas is now officially signed on for another mob movie – but this one comes with a comedic twist that could suit De Niro’s recent sensibilities (the sort that have steered him to such schlock as Little Fockers). De Niro will lead the cast of Luc Besson‘s Malavita, in which he will play a “notorious” mob boss who, along with his family, is sent to France as part of the witness protection program (France? Really? My Blue Heaven, this is not). Despite their best attempts at a normal life, the family reverts to old habits (or, as the official press release on this project puts it, ” they soon find themselves handling things the ‘family’ way). You know, like killing people and stuff. De Niro will be joined by Michelle Pfeiffer as his wife, Dianna Agron as their daughter, John D’Leo as their son, and Tommy Lee Jones as the poor FBI agent tasked with keeping watch on them.

Drinking Games

With the Harry Potter and Twilight franchises wrapping up this year, it seems all the studios are scrambling to find something that can replace them. The last teen-book-turned-movie to throw its hat in the ring is I Am Number Four. Whether it holds up to these franchises… well, we’ll let you be the judge of that. But if you get a chance to check this one out on DVD or Blu-ray, you can really enjoy it with a drink in hand. Because even though all the actors are old enough to drink, their characters aren’t.

This week, Fat Guy Kevin Carr hit his head and spent the better part of his time wandering around Berlin looking for January Jones. Soon he unlocked the key to his past and realized he was an alien who is hiding among the people of Earth, hunted by big dudes with tattoos and trench coats. Fortunately, he woke up from this terrifying dream to realize the true nightmare… there’s another Big Momma movie with Martin Lawrence and on-screen son Brandon T. Jackson in fat suits. To quote many a movie: “Noooooooooooo!”

Now that Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman film has found it’s Clark Kent, it only makes sense that they would begin testing for a Lois Lane that works well with him on screen. What’s Playing got the ball rolling by releasing a list of names that were in the running. The list included Kristen Stewart, Malin Akerman, Dianna Agron, Jessica Biel, and Rachel McAdams. The speculation began. Which of these girls has the right mix of brunette and feisty to pull the part off? Stewart was taken off the list pretty early, mainly due to having too many commitments, but probably also do to a complete lack of feistiness. Akerman was dismissed as being too old for the role, because that last Superman movie worked so well with casting high school kids as decades seasoned reporters with a six year old kid. So that left the choice as being between Rachel McAdams, Jessica Biel, and some girl I’ve never heard of. Decisions, decisions.

The television star will be taking off her cheerleader outfit and putting on probably another cheerleader outfit to play a high schooler in the sci-fi flick.
