Why Watch? Because Sid’s room in Toy Story had to have a brain-damaged human counterpart. These are truly children of the atomic age. In this deranged short, a group of mutated children travels to bring presents to their mother, but runs into a group of soldiers. The look and feel of the animation is somewhere between Pixar and a Slipknot music video that’s been burnt on one side and left out in the desert. The result is something that might play in a dank backroom of a short film festival (or out in the open of Fantastic Fest). It’s beautifully bizarre, and if anyone figures out what’s going on, please let us all in on it. What does it cost? Just 6 minutes of your time. Check out Chernokids for yourself:
