Why Watch? Because animation can transcend language and time. This retelling of the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur comes out of nowhere. The animation has a Persepolis style to it that seems to blend the simplicity of modern art with the literally classic look of Greek drawings. As a result, there’s a lot of suggestion going on which works in its favor. In a sense, it’s the stylistic opposite of 300. The story is told purely with visuals – not an easy task – but what’s truly engaging is that these unembellished lines still manage to create tension, surprise and emotion.
