‘2001 Maniacs’ Trading Cards Promise Sheep Love and Bloodshed

If you needed a handy guide to the murderous rednecks in the sequel to 2001 Maniacs or some fancy additions to your twisted Magic the Gathering deck, you could do worse than to check out the Virtual Maniac Trading Cards being used to promote Field of Screams.

You have to admire an advertising campaign that uses the same concept as the United States government did for terrorists.

Which one is your favorite? The sheep-loving, yellow-toothed guy or the cleavage-exposing Asian stereotype? How do you even choose between those choices?

You’ll notice a lack of Robert Englund (because he’s not in the sequel, sadly), and I have no idea what kind of quality this bad boy will exhibit. Still, it’s clear from these that the filmmakers are in the same goofy, racist mindset that produced the absurdity and inventive kills of the first film.

Dixploitation and bloodshed, if you’re into that sort of thing. But who isn’t these days.
