Twilight: Breaking Dawn Gets Release Date, Number Of Films Still in Question

Twilight: Eclipse

Summit Entertainment has announced that it will release The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn on November 18, 2011. They have not, however, decided on one movie or two. One could assume that they are waiting to see how well Twilight: Eclipse (due June 30) does at the box office before committing to two more films. That would be the young studio playing it safe. Not a bad move, if that’s the case.

It could also be the case that Melissa Rosenberg, the writer who has adapted all of the Twilight novels thus far, isn’t yet set on where — if anywhere — she would break the final book into two films. Having not read the book, I can’t even begin to predict how that task might be completed. Perhaps some of our Twilight-fan readers (all three of you) can help?

Alas, two movies or not, it will be directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls) and will star Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
