Frances McDormand, John Malkovich and Ken Jeong

One thing that is not lost on director Michael Bay is the need to get legitimate actors to star in roles that support giant CGI robots. Jon Voight and John Torturro come to mind. So it should come as no surprise that the director is reporting via MichaelBay.com that John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Ken Jeong have all been locked into the cast for Transformers 3.

According to an additional report from Deadline, McDormand will play the National Intelligence Director, while John Malkovich will play the first boss of Sam, played by Shia LaBeouf. There is no word on what role Jeong will play, but it’s likely that he won’t be naked, as he was in The Hangover.

Bay also mentioned his timetable for the film. it will shoot in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow and China. Pre-shooting will begin next month. Also buried in this piece of news is the announcement that a new Autobot will be joining the team. At a Ferrari charity event last week benefiting a hospital in Haiti, Bay announced that the Ferrari 458 Italia will be the next car added to the cast. For reference, I’ve included a picture of this sexy ride below.
