The Ten Hottest Baby Mamas in Movie History

The Ten Hottest Baby Mamas in Movie History

When I first saw the trailers for Baby Mama, I couldn’t help but say, “Isn’t this just The Brothers Solomon with ladies instead of dudes?” Then I got to thinking how many other movies have pregnancy in the story somewhere. And since I’m a bit of a pig (yeah, I went there), I couldn’t help but think how many of these pregnant characters were hot.

So, I have assembled a list of my favorite characters that are pregnant at some point during their films. Some of these choices may shock or horrify you, but who are you to question the miracle of birth?

Who: Geena Davis
Hot baby mama in: The Fly (1986)

I’ve never been a huge fan of Geena Davis, but I will admit that she was definitely in her prime during the 1980s. When her character of Ronnie gets pregnant in David Cronenberg’s remake of The Fly, it is a horror fan’s dream… until there’s that whole maggot abortion sequence in the middle of the movie.

Who: Keri Russell
Hot baby mama in: Waitress

I was not a huge fan of last year’s indie hit Waitress, but I will say that I enjoyed looking at Keri Russell. Any actress that can make her television show Felicity mildly appealing with her as the central eye candy treat can’t be all bad. Lucky Nathan Fillion. He got a chance to make out with her pregnant character.

Who: Elizabeth McGovern
Hot baby mama in: She’s Having a Baby

Here’s a blast from the past. She’s Having a Baby was a cute John Hughes film without the teenage angst, which was replaced with twentysomething angst. I’ve always carried a torch for Elizabeth McGovern, and she made such an adorable pregnant lady in those wacky 80s clothes.

Who: Demi Moore
Hot baby mama in: The Seventh Sign

Yeah, we all remember Demi Moore’s famous Vanity Fair pregnancy bit. Don’t worry. I’m not going to recreate that picture with myself and my now-famous belly. But I do harken back to simpler times when she thought she was pregnant with the Devil’s child in The Seventh Sign.

Who: John Hurt
Hot baby mama in: Alien

As fellow FSR writer Cole Abaius would say, “Go with me on this one.” Sci-fi geeks like myself love the Alien. And forget Sigourney Weaver. Let’s talk about John Hurt. He’s totally hot. And he was the first person in movie history to become an Alien Baby Mama.

Who: Katherine Heigl
Hot baby mama in: Knocked Up

Last year’s second pregnancy film (with the first being Waitress) gave fat slobs like myself hope. If a hottie like Katherine Heigl can go for a tubby slacker like Seth Rogan, anything is possible. Beyond the fact that Heigl is really attractive, there’s that sequence in the film when she’s having all that pregnant sex with Rogan and he just can’t handle it psychologically. Suck it up, dude!

Who: Kimberly Wiliams
Hot baby mama in: Father of the Bride: Part II

Sure, she’s been pregnant since – both in real life with her country singer husband and on her hit television show According to Jim – but Kimberly Williams first got knocked up in the rather funny sequel Father of the Bride: Part II. Not much to say here, except that I wish I had something to do with it.

Who: Amy Adams
Hot baby mama in: Junebug

Who can forget the adorable Amy Adams first big step into award season with the off-kilter comedy Junebug. She’s such a cute girl that you just want to cuddle with her, even if she’s carrying another man’s child.

Who: Dominique Swain
Hot baby mama in: Lolita

I’ll be honest. This actress’s presence on the list caused a bit of a stir at the FSR offices. She was brought in to replace a former placeholder on the list that some felt was inappropriate. Strangely, a young girl playing a pedophile’s object of affection seemed to be okay in a twisted sort of way. Don’t remember the girl being pregnant? Just think of the scene near the end when Jeremy Irons visits the girl when she’s living with a guy and, as he so eloquently put it, was “swollen with child.”

Who: Salma Hayek
Hot baby mama in: Fools Rush In

There’s no two ways about it. Salma Hayek is easily one of the sexiest women alive. And her role in Fools Rush In came in her early days, right after Desperado, when she was at her hottest. And, like Katherine Heigl’s appearance in Knocked Up, it gave dorks like me hope that if a tool like Matthew Perry could land a sizzling Latina like Salma… well, you know the rest.

Who: Amy Poehler and Tine Fey
Hot baby mama in: Baby Mama
I’ve always had a thing for both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. This movie filled a personal fantasy of mine.

Who: Jennifer Tilly
Hot baby mama in: Seed of Chucky
What else can I say? This brings puppet sex to a whole new level.

Sound off: Which fictional character would you like to see pregnant?

Kevin Carr crawled from the primordial ooze in the early 1970s. He grew up watching movies to the point of irritation for his friends and was a font of useless movie knowledge until he decided to put that knowledge to good use. Now, Kevin is a nationally syndicated critic, heard on dozens of radio stations around the country, and his reviews appear in a variety of online outlets. Kevin is also a proud member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), the Online Film Critics Society (OFCS), and the Central Ohio Film Critics Association (COFCA).
