No really, my computer began to heat up quite a bit while watching this new sizzle reel for Warner Bros.’ upcoming actioner The Losers, from director Sylvain White. For those who haven’t been paying attention, a sizzle reel is essentially just a much-extended trailer. Here we get three full, meaty minutes of sexy people doing sexy things with sexy weapons in sexy locales. Did I mention that this film looks quite sexy? It’s just a recurring theme that I’ve picked up in the marketing. It may also have something to do with Zoe Saldana.

Alas, the story of The Losers is this. A rag-tag group of CIA operatives is betrayed and left for dead. Now they must place their trust in a mysterious, but gorgeous woman named Aisha (Saldana), who will help them get back at the man who set them up and ultimately clear their names with the agency. It’s one of the seven great stories of literature — only this one includes slow-motion sex fighting in a burning hotel room.

The Losers is in theaters April 23, 2010. Based on a DC Comic by Andy Diggle, the film will also star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, Oscar Jaenada and Chris Evans. Check out the sizzle reel and the official synopsis below.

Sizzle Reel:

Synopsis:

An explosive action tale of betrayal and revenge, “The Losers” centers around the members of an elite Special Forces unit sent to the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. But the team–Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar–soon find that they have become the target of a deadly double cross, instigated from the inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max.

Making good use of the fact that they are now presumed dead, the group goes deep undercover in a dangerous plot to clear their names and even the score with Max. They are joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda, who is more than capable of scoring a few points of her own. Working together, when they’re not arguing amongst themselves, they have to stay one step ahead of the globetrotting Max–a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war for his own benefit. If they can take down Max and save the world at the same time, it’ll be a win-win for the team now known as The Losers.
