SXSW: Tucker and Dale, Thunder Soul Win Audience Awards

SXSW Film 2010

SXSW 2010 just won’t end. Sure, the final films screened Saturday night and the annual softball tournament took place yesterday, but work is still being done. Here at Reject HQ, we’re still watching screeners trying to find little gems that we might have missed during the week. Over at the HQ of the festival, they are still tallying up awards ballots. Today they announced the final round of Audience Awards for the 2010 edition of South by Southwest. Among the winners was Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, one of my favorite Sundance 2010 films, which took home the Audience Award for the Midnighters category. As well, the amazing doc Thunder Soul won the Lone Star States category, deservedly so.

Here now, is a rundown of the final feature film audience awards:

Winner: Richard Garriott – Man on a Mission
Director: Mike Woolf

Winner: NY Export: Opus Jazz
Director: Henry Joost and Jody Lee Lipes

Winner: When You’re Strange – a film about the Doors
Director: Tom DiCillo

Winner: Thunder Soul
Director: Mark Landsman

Winner: Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
Director: Eli Craig
