The Infamously Acclaimed Farting Corpse Movie Gets a Wild Trailer

“Have you seen this farting corpse movie? It’s incredible.”

That was the buzz from Sundance, of all places, where Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan’s Swiss Army Man made its debut in January. Starring Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe, the movie tells the story of a man who is very near the breaking point when he meets/finds a flatulent, somewhat animated corpse on a beach. The rest, as our own Rob Hunter said in his review, is “as the French say, unique.”

Hunter continues: “It’s rare to find a film that mixes serious themes of regret, sadness, and isolation with an incredibly sophomoric imagination — did I mention Manny’s flailing erection? — but writers/directors The Daniels (Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert) have crafted just such a creatively moving and inventively dizzying concoction of farts and feelings with their feature debut. There’s perhaps not enough of the serious and a bit too much of the goofy, but the film’s technical polish keeps all of it moving forward with the promise that something even crazier, more unexpected, and possibly heartbreaking is just around the corner.”

A buffet of vibrant audacity and an endless stream of energy. That’s what Swiss Army Man is promising and that’s what Swiss Army Man, by all accounts, delivers.

The film will debut theatrically on June 17, 2016. For now, let’s enjoy this trailer a few times:
