Paul Rudd and Zach Galifianakis Have the ‘Will’

Variety is reporting today that Paul Rudd and Zach Galifianakis are in final negotiations to star in the upcoming Paramount comedy Will, which follows the story of an ordinary guy (Rudd) who lives in a world where people’s lives and destinies are being written by scribes in Heaven. He wakes up one day to find that his heavenly writer has decided to no longer draft his life, and he must go through a day completely unscripted.

What’s significant here is not the team-up of two red hot comedic actors, but that this will be the second film from Little Miss Sunshine directorial team Valerie Faris and Jonathan Dayton. Since their breakout with Sunshine in 2006, they’ve been searching for the right project, and this pitch from comedian Demetri Martin seems to be a winner.

Will is scheduled to shoot in the spring.
