Paranormal Activity

Paranormal Activity 2, the mildly anticipated sequel to the smash hit frightener of 2009, is set for release in October. And to this point — much to the projects benefit — we’ve seen and heard almost nothing about it. That’s the way it should be, horror fans, because with a film like this the element of surprise is everything. In fact, if there are any surprises left in the franchise, they are best kept secret. Thus, it will be interesting to see how many of said secrets are revealed to moviegoers when the first trailer runs with The Twilight Saga: Eclipse next weekend.

Word came down today from our friends at Shock Till You Drop that this unlikely pair will make their way to theaters together next week. Eclipse is scheduled to open Wednesday. As Shock points out, the studio may be wise to hold something for Comic-Con at the end of July, but with a battle on the horizon with Saw VII 3D (yes, Saw in 3D) — they open on the same weekend — it’s important for the Kip Williams-directed sequel to get the word out there post haste.

The only question that remains is this: will it scare?
