If you’re anything like me, you probably watched the series finale of Lost in real-time on Sunday evening. It was an event not unlike the Superbowl for me. I ate food prepared on an outdoor grill, I drank more beer than should be consumed by a regular human, and there was much yelling and screaming at the television. And like the Superbowl, there were a few special commercials.
It must be noted that all of the companies that advertised sunscreen during the Lost finale really missed a big marketing opportunity. “Stuck on an island? Use our new SPF 100…” This couldn’t have been obvious to me and me alone. However, much credit goes to the marketers at Target, who unleashed a delightful trio of commercials that matched the various iconic elements of Lost — like the Smoke Monster, wild boars and the computer where believers enter in the numbers every 108 minutes. It was a lot of fun, and an experience you can relive below.
