Mike Newell to Helm Prince of Persia?

We don’t usually report on what’s not happening in the news. However, with word that Michael Bay will not be directing the Prince of Persia adaptation, how could we not report on what’s not happening?

Variety is spreading the word on what is happening – Disney is looking to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire director Mike Newell to lead the Prince.

If you’re me, and I am, this is great news. Michael Bay would have undoubtedly included fifteen minutes of explosions, giant robots and a melodramatic love story that peaks with a passionate kiss in front of even more explosions.
