The MTV Movie Awards are happening this evening. Am I watching them? Don’t be silly. Of course I’m not. There’s a really big hockey game on — Chicago Blackhawks, Stanley Cup Final, this is major. That said, I am taking an intermission break from the hockey game to bring your attention to this brand new clip from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, from director Edgar Wright. It debuted as part of the MTV Awards pre-show, showing the MTV fanbase (Twilight lovers) what a truly fun film looks like.

To set the scene: Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) is in love with Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). But there’s only one problem — in order to date this girl, he must fight and defeat her seven evil exes. One particular ex is an a-list action movie star named Lucas Lee, played by Chris Evans. In this clip, we see the future Captain America show off his widely acknowledged comedy chops. His character reminds me of me, in so much as we both have a skateboard-wielding stunt team that follows us everywhere.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World invades your universe on August 13, 2010.
