Kevin Costner to Direct a ‘Little War’

Variety is reporting that Kevin Costner has selected his next project as a director. It is an action-adventure flick called A Little War of Our Own, in which he will also play a sheriff during World War II. Written by Dan Gordon, the project reportedly “centers on a sheriff who must try to keep a town from exploding into violence. The other lead role in the pic will be a German U-boat commander.”

So, a German U-boat commander comes to town and everyone goes nuts? That actually makes sense. You must always look out for those Germans.

After seeing Costner direct films such as Open Range, The Postman and Dances with Wolves, I’m interested in seeing how this film will be in any way different from his previous work. I’m skeptical.
