Okay, Jason Statham doesn’t actually play a hummingbird in his new film, but his name is Joe. The confusion comes from the film’s constantly morphing identity over the past few months. It’s going by the name Hummingbird in the UK and Crazy Joe in France, but US distributors have chosen to go with the far more generic Redemption.

It looks like pretty standard Statham fare, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Characters with a social conscience aren’t necessarily new for him as he tackled some issues in his recent film Safe too, and I can think of no better way to educate people than through bone-crunching action.
