Iron Man 2

As May 7 draws closer, it is safe to assume that we’ll be writing more and more about Iron Man 2. As was the case with the first Iron Man film in 2008, there was an epic marketing push down the stretch. It’s hard to ignore it as well, because everything we’re seeing from Iron Man 2 looks great. And we’re just as excited as you are, so we’ll keep bringing you the good stuff as it is released.

Yesterday we showed you a giant photo gallery from the film, as well as another exciting TV spot. Today we have two updates as well. The first is less about the film and more about making you laugh, while the second is all about the film’s villains. Up first is a report from The Onion News Network about the shock streaking across the internet due to the discovery of a very particular plot-point involving Gwyneth Paltrow and a punch to the face. It’s very reminiscent of The Onion’s 2008 report: Iron Man Trailer Spawns Feature Film. It just never fails…

The second video comes to us from Entertainment Tonight, who have put together a featurette about the film’s two villains — Whiplash (Mickey Rourke) and rival weapons manufacturer Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell). It’s a brief minute-long video, but it does talk a bit about the villains and what Rourke and Rockwell brought to the roles. Definitely worth a minute of your time, if you’re not doing anything important…
