how to train your dragon 2

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is that rare species: a sequel that’s welcomed. The first was such a thoroughly exciting ride filled with a large cast of well-drawn characters that a second adventure alongside Hiccup and Toothless sounds like something to pack a bag for.

Fortunately a lot of the elements at work that made the first outing a success have returned — Jay Baruchel, writer/director Dean DeBlois and a slobbering dragon with half a tail.

This early teaser trailer is nice hint of the kind of fun they’ll be having this time around.

Obviously Hiccup has grown up a bit. This story takes place five years after the events of the first film, and now that the vikings have got fire-breathing transportation, they can explore the rest of the world. Naturally that means more types of dragons and a larger battle between the species.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 hits theaters June 20, 2014.
