At the 2009 edition of Fantastic Fest, Ben Wheatley’s Down Terracewon two awards in the “Next Wave Features” category, taking home Best Film and Best Screenplay. As it turns out, it was one of only three films that year not reviewed by the staff at Film School Rejects. So until now, we’ve known very little about the dark gangster comedy. Then we received this exclusive clip from Magnolia Pictures, who will release the film on October 15th, and it all makes perfect sense.
Have a look for yourself…
Here is the official synopsis, if that one moment wasn’t enough:
After serving jail time for a mysterious crime, Bill and Karl get out of jail and become preoccupied with figuring out who turned them in to the police. On top of that, the “family business” is on the rocks, and the motley crew of criminals who operate out of Down Terrace aren’t feeling terribly trusting of one another. It might look like an ordinary house, but at Down Terrace, the walls are closing in…
Down Terrace opens in Los Angeles and New York on October 15, Portland, Oregon on October 29th, with future cities and VOD to be determined.
