Dennis Quaid’s Bill Clinton Emerges

As we reported some time ago, Dennis Quaid (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) was cast in the upcoming HBO film The Special Relationship as President Bill Clinton. This Peter Morgan scripted, Richard Loncraine directed film will take a look at the relationship between Clinton and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, played once again by Michael Sheen. That’s three times as Blair for the Sheenster.

The above photo comes to us from Dark Horizons, who included it in their 2010 preview. As you can see, Quaid strikes an interesting resemblance to our charismatic 42nd President. The key will be the mannerisms and the soft, solid and calculated cadence that has made Clinton such an iconic figure. This is something we can’t ascertain from the photo, naturally. So we’ll see.

The Special Relationship also stars Helen McCrory and Hope Davis as Cherie Blair and Hilary Clinton, respectively. It will be released sometime in late 2010.
