Contest: Make a Slusho! Commercial, Win an Alienware Laptop

Earlier today we posted a Slusho! Commercial that was circulated online to help promote the release of Paramount and Bad Robot’s upcoming monster movie Cloverfied. And if you looked closely, you may have found the link to a little contest that is being put on over at To enter the contest, you simply put together your own “Happy Commercial” like the one released earlier today.

From the Official Slusho! Contest Site:

“It is Superfantastic happy time!!! The first ever Slusho! commercial contest for users like yourselves! Now you can share your happiness with all of us by making your OWN advertisement commercial for Slusho! brand happy drink!!!!! The top five entries, chosen by a small panel of decision peopls, will receive Slusho!-branded laptop computers designed by Alienware masters, each valued at $3,000 American dollars!!!! This is very phenomenal and true!!!!!!!! And even if you are not a winner, we may show your commercial!!!

The winners will have kept in mind that Slusho! is NOT scary and bad, or related to anything scary and bad, Slusho! is FUN and HAPPY! The winners will make 30-second (but no longer than a minute) commercials that show the super joy of Slusho! and how much people love it! Slusho! should be shown to be good and fun to drink!!! And amazingly great for you as additions!!!”

You did read that correctly. For making your Slusho! commercial, you could win a $3,000 Slusho!-branded Alienware laptop. I have to admit that this is one of the weirest viral marketing campaigns I have ever seen. While Warner Bros’ WhySoSerious Dark Knight marketing campaign has been the talk of the web, this one has been sneaking up on us for the longest time. Slusho! has appeared everywhere from Comic Con (where we all received the awesome t-shirts that are now on sale at to appearing on Heroes.

It may have you thinking “What are the folks at Paramount smoking?” And I’ll tell you this: whatever they are smoking, I want some. This campaign is nothing short of brilliant. So brilliant in fact, that whether or not Cloverfield is good or bad, it is bound for some box office success.

But enough talk. It is time for me to let you go forth and make your HAPPY commercials! Get to it.
