Well, the recent string of deaths of well-known actors continues. First Heath Ledger, then Roy Scheider and now The New York Times reports that legendary Academy Award Winning actor Charlton Heston has passed away at the age of 84. He died on Saturday night at his home in Beverly Hills with his wife, Lydia, at his side. In 2002, Heston revealed that he had symptoms related to Alzheimer’s disease.

Heston was most well-known for his Oscar winning role in William Wyler’s epic Ben-Hur. Heston is also known for the sci-fi classics Planet of the Apes and The Omega Man and the acclaimed Orson Welles film Touch of Evil.

Charlton Heston was truly a great talent. He will be missed.
