What is Movie News After Dark? This is a question that I am almost never asked, but I will answer it for you anyway. Movie News After Dark is FSR’s newest late-night secretion, a column dedicated to all of the news stories that slip past our daytime editorial staff and make it into my curiously chubby RSS ‘flagged’ box. It will (but is not guaranteed to) include relevant movie news, links to insightful commentary and other film-related shenanigans. I may also throw in a link to something TV-related here or there. It will also serve as my place of record for being both charming and sharp-witted, but most likely I will be neither of the two. I write this stuff late at night, what do you expect?

Tonight’s lead image is a new one from Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch featuring badass Jena Malone. According to a soundtrack report from HitFix, the film will also have several musical numbers. That leaves us with a rock opera, hyper-stylized, genre-bending, ass-kicking actioner from a guy who knows exactly how to make over-the-top awesome. All in slow-motion. Sign me up.

Charlie Sheen has joined Twitter. This guy has a publicist hell-bent of putting this man in a barrel and rolling him off of Niagara Falls, but he still thinks he’s winning. And if Sheen thinks he’s winning, we’ll all be winning, too.

This may only concern you if you’re like me and you anticipate every Baysplosion that is to come, but Trailer Addict has put together a list of when to expect the next trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. I’ve marked several of my calendars appropriately.

A new version of Peter Pan, being pitched as a “Peter Pan Begins” (exactly what you’d think it means, a la Batman Begins), would involve Channing Tatum. No need for commentary here. Moving along.

Humans, vampires and zombies vs. aliens. That sounds about right for a movie called The Kitchen Sink. Here’s the part that sounds a little off: Jonah Hill is in talks to direct. Yes, that Jonah Hill.

Devin Faraci would have you believe that these five villains should be in a Superman reboot. And none of them are Zod or Lex Luthor. In fairness, a big screen Bizarro would be pretty wicked.

The guy who directed Elite Squad 2 is now in talks to direct the Robocop reboot. And here, I was just beginning to warm to the notion of Darren Aronofsky directing that one.

Penthouse has launched a 3D porn channel in Europe. The US version is coming soon. It was only a matter of time.

Star Trek bathrobes are awesome.

And finally… Yes, I would watch a movie called The Tron Lebowski. There’s no reason why, but I know I’d watch it.
