Project Kronos

Why Watch? Filmmaker Hasraf Dulull has done effects work for The Dark Knight, Hellboy II and other high-profile projects, but he’s really emerging as a directing talent to watch with Project Kronos. The documentary-style look at space exploration is layered with sleek informational design and sees scientists trying to solve a conundrum about securing a computer powerful enough to house the data retrieved on an interstellar trip. The answer is simple, but controversial.

According to Variety, the short has been picked up by Armory/Benderspinkweiner for the full-length treatment, and it’s easy to see why. It’s like Errol Morris meets Stanley Kubrick — a talking head experience that unfolds like a mystery. Shot pristinely and boasting a rainbow flurry of experimental imagery, this is a fantastic short that exists in a universe worth expanding.
