Short Film: ‘2AM’ Brings a Smiling Reddit Story to Creepy Life

2AM Short Film

Why Watch? For everyone who read The Smiling Man story from blue_tidal on Reddit, this short film is like a text nightmare come to life. For everyone who hasn’t read it, get ready to fall in love with a man who will haunt you.

Directed and edited by Michael Evans, the film shows a young man on a late night stroll who encounters a menacing man with an unforgettable smile (and some sweet dance moves). It’s all fantastic atmosphere with a few sharp edits to bring jump scares into the fog — a bit like two quick jabs between bouts of giving your opponent crazy eyes.

It’s proof that you don’t have to have a mask to instill fear, so as it turns out, 2am is the exact wrong time to watch it.

What Will It Cost? About 4 minutes.
