Discuss: Would You Buy Merchandise At The Theater?

Imagine this: you bolt out of a movie raving about it to your friends and anyone else who will hear, and as you storm back into the lobby of the mega-multiplex, you spot a corner dedicated to selling you posters, video games and memorabilia from the very same movie you just went crazy for.

Do you whip out your wallet?

On this week’s Reject Radio, Aaron Morgan brought up the idea of spreading the business models of places like Mondo Tees out into the mainstream where all the major theater chains have merchandise on sale. It’s a fantastic idea that marries a love of film for a love of buying stuff involved with that film.

The big question is whether you’d buy just about anything or whether you’d stick to the simple. Posters are one thing, but would you shill out $500 for a maquette of Whiplash just because of how excited Iron Man 2 had you walking out?

How much are you willing to spend?
